Charlton

About

Charlton is located 43km north-north-east of St Arnaud, and roughly 100km north-west of Bendigo, on the Avoca River. It has long been known as a grain growing area, and this still the area’s main industry. The Avoca River (above) flows right through the town centre, and parks and walking tracks can be found alongside.

Fourteen kilometres west of Charlton are the Wooroonook Lakes, popular for swimmers, fishermen, boaters and picnickers.
