The Going Rural Health team at the University of Melbourne Department of Rural Health invites all medical, nursing and allied health students currently studying or on clinical placement in the region to participate in an Aboriginal Cultural Insight Experience Workshop. Medical, nursing and allied health professionals and general hospital staff are also welcome to attend.
Traditional Owner Bonnie Chew will conduct a 1 day cultural awareness session introducing students and staff to past and present Aboriginal Australia.
This session will give students and staff an insight into the Aboriginal history in Australia and an opportunity to discuss meeting the health and well-being needs of today’s community in a meaningful and culturally appropriate manner.
