Overview: A practical session using a simulation to help participants gain an insight as to how it feels to be in a minority culture.
A traveller in a foreign country sustains a suspected broken ankle and makes their way to a hospital for treatment. Their goal is to get an x-ray and some pain relief.
The focus – identifying that it is difficult to provide safe and effective health care when complicated by cultural factors.
