Welcome!

Welcome to our student support area!

So you are studying in the health science area – congratulations!  You may already know exactly where you are headed, or you may just be dipping your toe into some study and want to see where that leads you.  Either way it’s an exciting time for you and all that the future holds.

Our programs are designed to assist students who are either:

  • Studying in a rural or regional area
    OR
  • Completing some clinical placement time in a rural, regional or remote area.

The majority of our support is available for all health science students, regardless of your tertiary education provider.  However we do have some tailored programs for specific student groups as well.

So whether you are looking for some accommodation assistance, placement information, educational opportunities, perhaps some career pathway information or even connecting with other health science students, we have a range of programs to assist you.

Accomodation

We have a range of accommodation options available for students to use while on placement.

These accommodation options are available at reduced rates for students, making clinical placement much more affordable.

Regional Information

So, you’ve been allocated your clinical placement and it’s in a town you know nothing about? – Don’t panic!!

We are locals who are proud to live in these area’s which offer so much to those who are keen to step outside of the hospital walls.  Let us show you around our towns, give you some insight into what to expect, where to find the best coffee in town (YES you can get good coffee outside of metro area’s!!), what you should experience while you’re here and all the other good bits of local knowledge to share with you.

We’ll also share with you some information about the different health services.  Some have also asked for us to include their student orientation handbooks so you can get yourself acquainted before you arrive.

Scholarships

Where do you start looking for scholarships to help you with your studies and clinical placement costs?  What’s out there?

Well we’re developing a ‘one-stop-shop’ with scholarship information to help you out.  We’ve hunted down a number of scholarship’s for you, and linked them all into one place.   Hopefully this makes things easier for you to receive some financial assistance.

Student Networks & Mentoring

Wanting to connect with some other health science students in the area?  Or perhaps you’re looking for a mentor in the discipline you are studying in?

We’d love to be able to help you connect to build your networks, learn from others and share ideas.
