Welcome to Rural Health online!

We invite you to work your way through our online introduction to rural health.

The program has been developed to help you to understand how working in a rural health setting can be different from urban health settings and what to look for on your rural health experience.

This online learning unit consists of ten short online mini-modules for you to work through. It will take you around an hour and a half to complete all modules. You can log out and come back and complete modules not yet completed.

Each module presents information, has a video presenting the perspectives and experiences of rural health professionals and asks questions to encourage you to think about the topic.  Each module also provides references and further reading material.

There are two case studies for you to work through that demonstrate the learning material in a rural health context. The training has been developed to be an interprofessional experience, so you will have more knowledge of some aspects of care than others.

We have included the perspectives of numerous health professionals who live and work in rural Victoria so that you can hear about the challenges, successes and joys of rural health practice.

When you have completed all modules you will be issued with a certificate of completion.

We hope you enjoy this introduction to rural health!
