Information Session for Ballarat & Grampians Region NDIS Service Providers

The Boosting the Local Care Workforce Program, together with the Going Rural Health team, is bringing to you this information session for Ballarat and Grampians region NDIS service providers.

Presenters:

Stephen Gardner – Regional Co-ordinator – Boosting the Local Care Workforce Program

Stephen will discuss the recent roll-out of the Boosting the Local Care Workforce Program and how it can support providers with the implementation of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

 

Claire Quilliam – Research Fellow – University Department of Rural Health, University of Melbourne

Claire will present findings from the recent UDRH study on the impact of the NDIS on rural NDIS funded services and allied health student placements. Discussion will focus on ideas for rural NDIS funded services to grow an allied health workforce skilled in providing services to rural people with disability.

 

Trish Thorpe – Education Support Co-ordinator – Department of Rural Health, University of Melbourne

Trish will provide an overview of the Going Rural Health (GRH) program, and the support that is offered to nursing and allied health students and staff, through education programs, mentoring, cultural awareness, accommodation and financial support. Discussion will include student placements and how GRH can assist staff to support students and give examples of current programs in place.

 

Bookings essential. Minimum numbers will be required for this event to run.
