Horsham

About

Horsham is around 300 km north-west of Melbourne. It is the largest city in the Wimmera region, whose primary industry is sheep and wheat farming, with a population of around 16,000 people.

Horsham is situated on the Wimmera River, 25km north of the northern extremity of the Grampians National Park on the Western Highway, which links Melbourne and Adelaide. South-east of the city are the Wimmera lakes, which form part of the Wimmera-Mallee irrigation system, and are popular for fishing, swimming and boating.

The township is located only a short distance from 3 National Parks, is surrounded by lakes, and has some award-winning boutique wineries close by.
