Supervising Staff Mentor Group

This informal group provides an opportunity for student supervisors to liaise across multiple sites with any of their issues relating to student support and education through sharing experiences & innovative ideas. It can be a chance to debrief, seek out tips and tricks in facilitation, how to set up a positive learning environment, how to provide feedback (to both students and staff) or simply to share information about a particular project.

Timing will be guided by the membership, we are all busy and so we want to be as flexible as we can to support you the supervisor. Periodic VC or Skype sessions will be facilitated by UoM staff on particular themes as requested by the group.

The goal is to combat some of the professional isolation we can sometimes feel, particularly if we are in a smaller setting without an established education unit for support.

Register here your expression of interest if you want to learn more or would like to become a member.
