Alexandra

Alexandra is located near the Goulburn River between Yea and Eildon, 90km north-east of Melbourne. It is a good base to explore Lake Eildon and Lake Eildon National Park, Cathedral Range National Park, and the Gouburn River Valley. The main industry in the area is agriculture.

There are a number of historical buildings in the town centre, dating back to the mid 1850’s during the gold rush, including the library.

Alexandra has many landscaped gardens and parks, as well as McKenzies Flora reserve which features a nature walk showcasing native wildflowers and orchids. The surrounding National Parks are frequented by hikers and rock climbers. The Great Victorian Rail Trail, popular with cyclists, also passes through the town.

The area also boasts many fine wineries, and local artisians, as well as great food.
