Seymour

Seymour is located on the Goulburn River, between Nagambie, Broadford, Euroa and Yea, about one hour from Melbourne. It is surrounded by scenic countryside, including the Tallarook Ranges, and farming and wine growing areas.

Seymour’s town centre was originally on the main road between Melbourne and Sydney, which was busy during the gold rush. Many buildings are still standing from that time and later in the 1800’s.

Along the banks of the Goulburn River are parks and picnic grounds, a fishing platform, boat ramp and walking trails. The area is popular for boating, fishing and swimming.

For those interested in our war history, there is an Army Tank Museum, the Vietnam Veterans Commemorative Walk, and World War 1 & Australian Light Horse Memorial Park. Other historical areas include the Railway Heritage Centre, and of course the historic buildings – the old court house now houses the visitor information centre.
